The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) this week released quarterly employment data, which shows the healthcare & social assistance industry has comprehensively driven the nation’s jobs growth over the pandemic.
Australia added 115,500 jobs in the November quarter, led by Construction (+30,000) and Healthcare & Social Assistance (+17,800), with Public Administration & Safety (-13,900) shedding the most jobs:
Over the year to November, Healthcare & Social Assistance led jobs growth, with 166,400 jobs added, followed by Construction (+131,900). By contrast, Public Administration & Safety shredded 59,000 jobs:
