Peace in our time

The tyrant is readying to make war:

Xi Jinping has ordered Chinese military to prepare for war, warning China’s national security is facing “increased instability and uncertainty”.

The Chinese President made the declaration during a visit to the joint operations command centre of the Central Military Commission in Beijing on Tuesday.

China will now comprehensively strengthen its military training and preparation for any war, Xi said, according to state broadcaster CCTV.

While Albo is seeking peace in our time:

“I have made it very clear that dialogue is a good thing, and so if a meeting is arranged with Xi Jinping, that would be a positive thing,” Mr Albanese said.

“We are organising a range of meetings, but they haven’t been finalised and locked in at this point in time.”

The last formal meeting between Mr Xi and an Australian prime minister was with Malcolm Turnbull on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Lima, Peru, in November 2016.

Dialogue is a good thing. That gives us the opportunity to tell the tyrant that Australia supports the One China policy and peaceful reunification. Any move to forcibly annex Taiwan will be met with Australia shutting down resource exports to China.

The tyrant only understands strength. I doubt Albo can give it to him.
