Green light for Labor’s anti-corruption body

A parliamentary joint select committee is scheduled to release a report on its review of the federal government’s National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) bill.

The committee is believed to have achieved consensus on recommending that the bill should be passed by parliament.

However, the report will acknowledge that there was disagreement among committee members on some provisions of the bill, such as the test for public hearings, and reserve the right for parties that participated in the inquiry to seek amendments to the bill when it is debated in parliament.
