Japanese Headline Inflation Set to Rise as Food Prices Heat up

Japan faces rising inflationary pressure, owing to a weak yen and high global energy prices. This bout of inflation, however, is primarily cost-push, whereas demand-pull inflation is nowhere in sight. Consumer services price growth is insipid, and, by extension, wage increases will remain lacklustre.
