Recall that the March quarter net overseas migration (NOM) data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) recorded the largest ever quarterly intake on record, with 96,200 net migrants arriving:

The former Morrison Government’s uncapping of international student working hours last year has already delivered a sharp increase in student visa applications from India and Nepal. Department of Home Affairs data released in August revealed that a record 42,700 offshore international students lodged a visa application to study in Australia in June, with many more applying in July:
