Business confidence lifts on energy shock, immigration

Roy Morgan’s Business Confidence survey for September has been released, with overall confidence rising another 4.7 points to 100.7 – the second consecutive monthly increase:

The index is now back in positive territory and at its highest since April 2022 before the RBA started raising interest rates in early May.

There were increases across the index in September with businesses growing more confident about their own circumstances as well as about the prospects for the Australian economy in the period ahead.
