Aussie unemployment edges higher despite jobs boom

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released its labour force survey for August, with the nation’s unemployment rate edging 0.1% higher to 3.5%:

This rise in unemployment came despite the creation of 33,500 jobs (+0.2%) over the month:

As well as a 0.8% rise in monthly hours worked to 1,854 million:
