After a decade of stagnating wages, Australia’s union movement is pressing hard for wage increases that at least match the inflation rate:
“After a decade of wage stagnation it’s absolutely fair and reasonable that workers receive pay rises that keep pace with the cost of living,” Australian Workers Union national secretary Daniel Walton says.
”It’s time to look at the other side of the ledger,” Electrical Trades Union acting national secretary Michael Wright says. “The starting point for tackling inflation surely must be price and profit restraint.“
