Hays: Aussie wages to undershoot RBA expectations

The latest salary survey from recruitment firm Hays shows that almost 90% of Australian employers intend to offer pay rises in 2022. However, just one-third of employers have signalled that they will increase salaries by more than 3%:
“Talent shortages are really pronounced in the market, and it’s a once-in-a-career market where demand is really outstripping supply,” Mr Deligiannis said.
“We’ve had border closures, so there’s a limitation on skills coming into the country, so you’re fishing from a local pool of talent rather than an expanded pool.”
