“Dire” consumer confidence suffers biggest collapse in 20 years

The ANZ-Roy Morgan consumer confidence index has suffered its biggest collapse in 20 years, plunging 7.6% last week to lows not seen since the depths of COVID lockdowns in April 2020:

Outside of the pandemic, consumer confidence has not been this low since the early-90s recession.
