Labor has given little indication as to what changes it might make to industrial relations laws if it wins office, but some of the comments it has made regarding issues such as job security could be seen as an indicator.
For example, it might decide to extend the Fair Work Act to cover “workers” and not just employees. It may also try to have enterprise bargaining be extended to cover industry or sector-wide negotiations to help push up wages, as well as extending the scope of enterprise bargaining agreements beyond their traditional focus of terms and conditions of employment.
