Dictator Dan defies CHO and keeps worker vaccine mandate

Business groups and epidemiologists are generally supportive of the Victorian government’s decision to scrap most COVID-19 restrictions from 11.59pm on Friday.

However, the requirement for most workers to be vaccinated will remain in place, despite chief health officer (CHO) Brett Sutton advising that vaccine mandates should now be at the discretion of individual workplaces. Essential workers such as teachers, aged-care and health care staff must still have had three vaccine doses, while hospitality, office and construction workers must be double-vaccinated.
