Fire, plague or flood, Morrison heads for Hawaii

“Psycho” Morrison up to his old tricks of playing politics as Australians suffer:

NSW made three formal requests for the Australian Defence Force to help in flood-ravaged Lismore but was offered fewer than 300 on the same day the federal government said it had 2000 ready to go if requested.

In a sign of escalating tensions between NSW and Canberra over the handling of the unprecedented flood crisis, the state government made its first request for assistance on February 27 before the full extent of the disaster hit.

However, NSW did not receive any confirmation from the federal government about troop numbers and only heard about a promise of 2000 personnel via a journalist, who obtained a statement from the federal Emergency Services Minister Bridget McKenzie late on a Friday night on March 4.

…By the next morning, Saturday, March 5, the number being cited by the federal government had more than doubled to 5000, but again NSW was not formally told by their federal colleagues. Two senior NSW government sources said the ADF was also blindsided.

The ADF spends most of its time sitting around wasting ammo. There are thousands of troops that can be deployed within 12 hours and would like nothing better than to be so employed.

Not to mention that it is terrific practice for ADF deployment in a hurry. After all, war is not faxed through in advance.

In short, “Psycho” Morrison choofed off to Hawaii again, this time in his empty head:

It comes after a tumultuous week for the PM as he visited flood-ravaged northern NSW and southeast Queensland, with many airing their anger about not getting five minutes with the PM, and their heartbreak about the slow government response, as ABC reports. Former Fire and Rescue NSW chief commissioner Greg Mullins wrote to Morrison that it was like Black Summer all over again, continuing his group, Emergency Leaders for Climate Action, met with the government in October to warn about massive flooding risks in the summer. If the government had implemented the findings of the Royal Commission into Natural Disaster Arrangements, Mullins continued, victims would’ve been better prepared. A TV flood appeal saw some $25 million raised for the victims at the weekend, The New Daily reports, while $36 million has been allocated by the federal government.

Only a very sick puppy would be unable to see that governing successfully during times of national crisis is the best way to improve one’s popularity. The list of natural disaster policy failures under the Morrison Government is extraordinary:

  • Worst fires in living memory, PM goes on holiday in Hawaii.
  • 30k Australians abandoned overseas during pandemic as PM renders citizenship worthless.
  • Vaccine procurement butchered as PM gives main supply contract to LNP-aligned firm.
  • Vaccine rollout butchered as PM shoots for glory and ignores state infrastructure.
  • RAT rollout butchered as PM reopening unplan backfires.
  • A thousand elderly dead as PM ignores desperate calls for ADF pandemic aid in aged care.
  • Flood relief butchered as PM tries to blame states.

We need to be shot of “Psycho” Morrison and to forget of his existence ASAP.
