Aussie inflation expectations rocket

ANZ-Roy Morgan’s latest consumer confidence report shows that sentiment remains in the gutter on increasing concerns around inflation.

As shown in the next chart, consumer confidence is tracking at the lowest level since last winter’s Delta outbreak:

Meanwhile, weekly inflation expectations rose 0.4ppt to 6.4% last week, its highest weekly reading since June 2012:
