New car sales fall again amid chip shortages

Australian new car sales fell 4.8% year-on-year in January on the back of the supply disruptions, according to the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI).

Only 75,863 new cars were sold in January compared with 79,666 in January 2021 and 71,731 in January 2020.
