Dan’s booster vaccine mandate is illogical

The national cabinet has accepted the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation’s (ATAGI’s) recommendation that people aged 16+ should receive a booster to be regarded as being ‘up to date’ on their vaccine status.

Aged-care is the only sector in which workers will be required to have a booster shot. However, the states and territories will be able to issue a three-dose mandate, which could potentially include international tourists.

ATAGI’s decision has paved the way for Victorian Premier Dan Andrews to follow through with mandating booster shots in order to attend the state’s cafes, restaurants and other public facilities.
