Australia loses 770k temporary visas over pandemic

The Department of Home Affairs has released its temporary visa statistics for the December quarter of 2021, which shows that Australia has lost 770,000 temporary migrants over the pandemic:

The biggest driver of these visa losses are visitor visas, which fell by 570,000 over the past two calendar years:
