Aussie houses widen value lead over apartments

A new report from CoreLogic shows that Australian houses have extended their record value lead over apartments.
The disparity between Australia’s house and unit values reached an all-time high in January of 28.3%. This follows house price growth of 24.8% in the year to January, versus 14.3% growth for units:

CoreLogic Research Analyst Kaytlin Ezzy says the performance gap throughout the current upswing has been notably higher than in previous cycles, thanks in part to COVID-related demand shocks disproportionately affecting unit demand.
