Data sources

This is a list of some of the main data sources we use: Please visit the Our World in Data for individual country data. https://www.worldomethttps://ourworldindata.org/covid-casesers.info/coronavirus/ Probably the best source of the latest COVID-19 statistics https://medium.com/@tomaspueyo/coronavirus-the-hammer-and-the-dance-be9337092b56 Tomas Pueyo has written a number of very good summaries of the strategies to overcome coronavirus https://www.capitaleconomics.com/the-economic-effects-of-the-coronavirus/ Good source of fast-moving China economic stats. https://bnonews.com/index.php/2020/02/the-latest-coronavirus-cases/ If you want to be bombarded with every breaking news story, this is the place https://ncov.dxy.cn/ncovh5/view/pneumonia  Faster than worldometers for Chinese data, but slower on rest of the world data. I don’t think China cases matter anymore. https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/situation-reports I’m less enamoured of the WHO data now than I was at the start of the crisis. They are providing less information now than they were at the start of the crisis, and it sometimes contradicts country-level data. https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6 The prettiest pictures, but one of the slower sites to update. I don’t find the charts that useful. https://www.youtube.com/user/MEDCRAMvideos has a daily youtube wrap-up https://www.youtube.com/user/ChrisMartensondotcom has a daily youtube wrap-up https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/covid-19/surveillance/weekly-surveillance-report https://covidtracking.com/data/download/national-history.csv https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations

According to the non vaxed older shop assistant (ex professional in previous life), at the sporting venue he went to he was surrounded by 4 fully 3x vaxed and they all caught Covid except him.
Does that mean we should ostracize all the vaxed and avoid them because they are more likely to have the Covie lurgie.
And another hotly disputed conspiracy theory. Always good to see differing viewpoints though.

  2. Want to blame someone, then blame
    1. China (CCP) take your pick of lax food standards at markets or lax lab bio security (multiple prior offences for both)
    2. WHO – inept und under spell of China

This has gone on for 2 years.
That is 3% of an average lifespan
For anyone under 20, that is at least 10% of their life to date

No government anywhere has managed this perfectly

But by every KPI, we have done pretty well in Australia – mainly because we are an island

At some point, we have to move through this
If we don’t during summer, then people will argue that winter is not the right time either

    Get vaccinated
Get healthy – stop smoking, lose weight
    Get on with life

    • Well done on pointing the finger at the WHO (I recall Trump withdrew the US from it) but I think you’re remiss to neglect any mention of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), the largest donor to the WHO after the US, reportedly the reason for Tedros’ appointment, and a huge part of the vaccine lobby within the pharmaceutical industrial complex that has profited massively from this pandemic. The BMGF has fingers in every pie in the apparatus of the global response to the pandemic, from the universities and research institutes to the WHO and the tech involved in the biometric IDs and vaccine passports. If blame is to be apportioned, the money must be followed all the way to its source. BMGF fingerprints are everywhere.

      • Since Bush Jr the U.S. has de-funded its share of payments to international institutions on the premise they were not getting their ***moneys worth*** and people like Bill Gates et al got their wealth from anti competitive behavior vindicated by the economic libertarians and Chicago school thinkers … so Gates being a big funder is just another bonus of the aforementioned groups w/ a side of anti democratic administration.

These are the same sorts that have been banging on about freedom and liberty for decades, albeit the the lowly unwashed sorts have not figured out how it scales too $$$$$$ … and still think their day is just around the corner e.g. temporarily embarrassed capitalists.

  3. What year will humanity stop talking about COVID-19
    a. 2022
    b. 2023
    c. 2030
    d. 2040
    e. Never, it is the beginning of the demise of humanity

  4. It was sold under the guise of womens liberation, but was actually just a way to double the income tax stream. Bernays did the same thing with women smoking ciggies. It was said in jest tho
