Victoria obliterates all COVID records

Melbourne already holds the crown as the world’s most locked down city and Victoria holds the Australian record for most COVID deaths.

Now it has added another title – the Australian record for the most daily COVID cases – 1,763 over the past 24 hours, alongside another four deaths:

To add insult to injury, a record 2.835% of tests in the past 24 hours in Victoria came back positive, according to COVIDBaseAU:

The only positive news is that Victoria’s Reff has fallen slightly to 1.43, although it remains well above 1.0. This means that cases will continue to climb:

These are shocking numbers for us long suffering Melburnians.
