COVID cases dive following freedom weekend

Victoria recorded 1461 locally acquired COVID cases and seven deaths after Melbourne reopened on Friday:

Active cases also declined across both jurisdictions:

A high 2.57% of tests in Victoria over the past 24 hours came back positive, according to COVIDBaseAU:

Whereas Victoria’s Reff remained at 1.03:

By comparison, only 0.49% of tests in NSW came back positive:

And NSW’s Reff is only 0.85%:

Hopefully Victoria’s cases won’t spike now that Melbourne has opened up.
