Victoria’s Delta outbreak continues to spiral out of control.
The state recorded another 246 locally acquired COVID cases over the past 24 hours – the highest daily count this outbreak:

Of these 246 new local cases, only 121 are linked to known cases and outbreaks. This means that around half are ‘mystery cases’.

The only positive news is that Premier Daniel Andrews yesterday signalled that a few lockdown restrictions could be relaxed ahead of schedule, as modelling suggests that 70% of Victoria’s eligible population will have received at least one vaccine dose by 18 September.
