After a slow start, Australia’s vaccination rollout is gathering pace and we are now vaccinating around 1% of the population every day.
Just over half of Australia’s population has now received a single vaccine dose, with 30.7% now double vaccinated:
NSW is the vaccine leader, with 59.1% of the state’s population now single vaccinated. This is followed by Tasmania (51.0%), Victoria (48.7%), SA (45.0%), NT (44.4%), Queensland (43.5%) and WA (42.4%):
In terms of double vaccinations, Tasmania (36.9%) leads followed by NSW (32.8%), NT (31.2%), VIC (30.4%), SA (30.2%), QLD (27.4%) and WA (27.2%):
The overwhelming majority of older cohorts are now vaccinated. Even with 16-19 year-olds, more than one-quarter (27.1%) have received at least one jab:
Finally, while Australia’s vaccination rates have undoubtedly improved markedly, and is now above the world average, it lags well behind the leader nations:
Nevertheless, Australia is now on track to have fully vaccinated 70% of eligible Australians by the end of October, and 80% by the end of November.
