NSW daily COVID cases continue to fall

NSW recorded 1,127 locally acquired COVID cases over the past 24 hours – the lowest number in nearly a fortnight:

Two people died with COVID over the past 24 hours:

  • A man in his 50s; and
  • A woman in her 80s.

There have been 186 COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since 16 June 2021.

There are currently 1,253 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital, with 231 people in intensive care, 104 of whom require ventilation.

Active cases remain stable at around 14,400 after halving last week courtesy of a definitional change:

Let’s hope NSW’s COVID outbreak has peaked.

    • Assuming this really is the case peak (lowest number for more than 10 days, so probably, unless eased restrictions send it the other way) there’s still the forthcoming death peak to look forward to distraction wise.
