NSW daily COVID cases continue to fall

NSW recorded 1,127 locally acquired COVID cases over the past 24 hours – the lowest number in nearly a fortnight:

Two people died with COVID over the past 24 hours:

  • A man in his 50s; and
  • A woman in her 80s.

There have been 186 COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since 16 June 2021.

There are currently 1,253 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital, with 231 people in intensive care, 104 of whom require ventilation.

Active cases remain stable at around 14,400 after halving last week courtesy of a definitional change:
