Job vacancies strong despite lockdowns

The ABS has released job vacancies for the August quarter, which fell 9.8% from May 2021:

Private sector job vacancies fell 10.9% from May 2021, whereas public sector vacancies increased 2.3% from May 2021.

The fall in job vacancies was driven by NSW (-15.7%), Victoria (-7.2%) and SA (-16.0%), whereas the other jurisdictions reported an increase in vacancies:
