GDP in detail: Nation income booms, employee income busts

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released the national accounts for the June quarter, which registered a 0.8% rise in real GDP over the quarter with GDP also rising 9.9% through the year (due to the ‘base effect’).

On a per capita basis, real GDP rose by 0.4% over the quarter to be up 9.4% over the year.

The seasonally adjusted GDP rebound was driven by household consumption expenditure, which contributed 0.6% to growth:
