NSW records another 344 COVID cases

NSW Health reported another 344 local COVID cases over the past 24 hours:

Of these locally acquired cases, 115 are linked to a known case or cluster – 97 household contacts & 18 are close contacts – & the source of infection for 229 cases is under investigation.

143 cases were in isolation throughout their infectious period and 36 were in isolation for part of their infectious period. Sixty-five cases were infectious in the community, and the isolation status of 100 remains under investigation.

Two more people died from the virus – a man in his 30s and a 90 year old. This brings total deaths to 34 this outbreak.

374 people are in hospital and 62 are in ICU.
