New Zealand’s COVID outbreak swells

New Zealand has recorded another 68 locally acquired COVID cases taking total active community cases to 277:

The total number of community cases in Auckland is now 263 and in Wellington it is 14.

New Zealand has been in a strict lockdown since 18 August. The nationwide lockdown is set to be reviewed on Friday, while the epicentre of Auckland will remain under strict stay-at-home orders until at least August 31.

  1. … and a couple of weeks ago a Woke Idiot journalist was writing in a National newspaper that it was a case of white privilege that the country was vaccinating people when they didn’t have COVID and that the vaccines should be sent to the poor hard done by 3rd world.

      So far 69% of the infected cases are Pacific Islanders (cf 7% of the population). 44 of the 277 cases are vaccinated.
      Maori and Pacific Islanders have had priority access to vaccines for months, they even held special clinics for them in South Auckland. However, they tend to have very large families and live in overcrowded conditions (the reason why so many children have covid in this outbreak) and 64% of them are obese (so vaccinations may not work anyway).
      We are just praying that they have no religious objection to staying the f**k home.
