Lockdown to continue as VIC records 20 COVID cases
Hopes for Melbourne exiting lockdown as scheduled on Thursday midnight have been dashed after the state recorded another 20 local COVID infections over the past 24 hours:
Reported yesterday: 20 new local cases and no new cases acquired overseas.
– 23,811 vaccine doses were administered
– 41,571 test results were received

Of the 20 new locally-acquired cases, 15 have been linked to current outbreaks and 5 are still under investigation. 14 have been in quarantine throughout their infectious periods:
No source of acquisition has yet been confirmed for either of the Victorian community outbreaks which emerged last week.
There are now 115 active local infections across the state:
I’m tipping lockdown will be extended another week.
