Is Berejiklian only locking down Labor electorates?

The answer is yes. Here’s her Swiss cheese LGA lockdown map:

Here’s the LGA map electorate and party:

The overlap is remarkable. There’s hardly an LNP electorate locked down. But just about every Labor electorate is.

Now, correlation is not causation. And it is also clear that Labor areas have had more virus. That is no doubt owing to the stronger multicultural demographic, as well as, perhaps, less capacity to work from home and/or greater vaccine hesitancy. I’m speculating on the causes.

But, one still has to ask the question. Are political considerations affecting Berejiklian pandemic management? Especially so since the premier, herself, seems so intent on saving face versus Dan Andrews by not locking down enough. And is that burden being lifted from her favorite electorates while the rest of the country is going to be forced to carry the burden?

To me, the answer is probably “yes” which is pretty bloody pathetic.
