Engineering powers construction activity in Q2

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released preliminary data on construction work done, which rose over the June quarter on the back of engineering construction.

As shown in the next table, total construction work rose by 0.8% over the June quarter, driven by a 1.8% rise in engineering. Over the year, total construction activity rose by 0.4%, with residential building (+8.9%) driving the annual increase:
