Victoria records another 26 COVID cases

Victoria recorded another 26 locally acquired COVID cases over the past 24 hours:

The good news is that 24 of the 26 cases were in quarantine throughout their entire infectious period.

The next chart shows that new cases continue to rise, hitting the highest count since this outbreak began:

VIC locally acquired COVID cases

New cases still rising.

There are now 133 active local COVID cases recorded in Victoria:

VIC active COVID cases

Yet to peak.

I’d put the chances of Victoria finishing its lockdown on Tuesday as slim.

That’s another 7 day lockdown extension. Good thing only 2 people were circulating while infectious.

    • No, but Labor should have shut the border before it did. Andrews is asleep at the switch, so we go into Draconian lockdown for a few weeks.

      • How good is footy? Who could have thought that stadiums with people could spread the virus?

  2. Yeah, agreed – hard to see it ending next week at this stage. I’ll have to organise my next property online it seems

  3. I went past a few sites with tradies and could not see a single person wearing a mask or any social distancing being adhered to. Lucky hi vis gives you immunity in Victoria.

    • Yeah just walked my neighbourhood at launch seems construction is ok. Weird. It’s like tradies don’t spread it.

And removalists are still going. Yesterday at my block of flats, about 4 big removalists rocked up with masks hanging down under their chins and emptied the flat on the 3rd floor. Before leaving, they set up little aromotherapy bowls with incense sticks on each landing.

this morning the place stinks of relaxing sandlewood, plum blossoms and god-knows-what. Maybe they were just being polite, but those little bowls look like covid spreaders to me
