NSW Health has recorded another 177 locally acquired COVID cases over the past 24 hours:

Of these locally acquired cases, 74 are linked to a known case or cluster – 60 are household contacts and 14 are close contacts – and the source of infection for 103 cases is under investigation.
47 cases were in isolation throughout their infectious period and 22 cases were in isolation for part of their infectious period. 46 cases were infectious in the community, and the isolation status of 62 cases remains under investigation.
A women in her 90s died of COVID, taking total deaths this outbreak to 11.
165 COVID-infected people are in hospital with 56 in ICU.

Judging by Melbourne’s virus trajectory, NSW daily case numbers probably won’t peak for at least another week.

Today, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced that she will extend Sydney’s lockdown for at least another month. Six weeks looks more likely.
