Consumer confidence unfazed by COVID outbreaks

The ANZ-Roy Morgan consumer confidence index brushed aside the nation’s growing COVID outbreak, recording only a slight 0.2% fall to 112.2 to be tracking just below the historical average of 112.6:

However, the index only partially captured the impact of all the various restrictions and lockdowns imposed across the states, given most of the survey was completed prior to the lockdown announcements.
