LVO roasts Labor’s immigration intransigence on Radio 2GB

This morning I gave a comprehensive interview (below) with Radio 2GB’s Michael McLaren discussing New Zealand Ardern Government’s immigration reforms, which would see a much smaller volume of high quality, high skilled and highly paid migrants that fill genuine skills shortages.

I explain why Australia should adopt these policies and lambast Labor for not following the New Zealand Labour Party’s lead:

“Why won’t the Labor Party in Australia follow the Labour Party in New Zealand and adopt their policies. The Labor Party has been totally silent on the whole immigration issue. We’ve heard nothing from them. And yet they are supposed to represent the working class. Where are they?”.

“Jacinda Ardren is one of the most popular leaders in the world at the moment, whether you like her or not. And she’s running this platform. You think that if Labor had half a brain they might look at that and go ‘hang on, Australia has exactly the same issues, the sentiment is exactly the same, maybe we should adopt that same model. And guess what? They might actually win the election. But without it, they are going to stay in opposition”.

Thanks to Radio 2GB for having a deplorable economist like me on the airwaves again.
