Aussies boycott Chinese made goods

New research from Roy Morgan Research shows the preference for Australian-made goods rose during 2020, but fell for goods from Australia’s largest trading partner China.

A huge majority of 93% of Australians said they are more likely to buy products made in Australia – up from 87% a year earlier. This was led by baby boomers (96%) and generation X (94%).

The growing preference for Australian made goods has come at the expense of Chinese-made goods, with only 21% of Australians saying they would be more likely to buy products made in China, a drop of 9% points from 2019:
