Berejiklian intensifies vaccine war on Morrison

I noted last week that the NSW Government had declared war on its Morrison Government Coalition cousin:

That war is intensifying:

  • Morrison chopping the AZ vaccine a “huge setback”.
  • Australia in danger of being left behind by the vaccinated world.
  • NSW to set up its mass vaccination centre (outside Morrison’s plan and advice) just in case surprise supply appears.

This is not a good sign for either the vaccine rollout or its politics for the Morrison Government. Premier Berejiklian appears to be engaged in two objectives.

First, she is softening up the people of NSW for a slowing rollout so she must be aware that the speed of things is about to get worse not better.

Second, she wants to ensure that the political fallout is sheeted home to where it belongs.

We might describe this as rats deserting the sinking Coalition ship.
