Rental vacancies tightening outside of Sydney and Melbourne

SQM Research has released its rental vacancy data for the month of February, which reported rising vacancy rates in Sydney and Melbourne but tight vacancies elsewhere.

As shown in the next table, rental vacancy rates are very high in Melbourne (4.5%) and high in Sydney (3.3%), but are at 1.5% (Brisbane) or below across the other jurisdictions:

Rental vacancies are elevated in Melbourne and Sydney but low elsewhere.
