Labor demands inquiry into rorted JobKeeper

The growing number of companies that have voluntarily agreed to refund their JobKeeper payments has prompted Labor to urge the federal government to hold an inquiry into the scheme.

Shadow treasurer Andrew Leigh has written to Treasurer Josh Frydenberg suggesting that a parliamentary committee should look into the profits and executive bonuses of companies that have received the wage subsidy. This came after Toyota, Super Retail Group and Iluka Resources have agreed to repay their JobKeeper payments. Leigh contends that retail group Premier Investments should also do so.
