Aussie job postings now higher than a year ago

Callam Pickering, economist at global jobs site Indeed, has updated his job postings data, which is running ahead of the same time in 2019:

“Hiring remained above trend over the past week – Victoria up 8.5% against last year’s trend and the rest of Australia up 8%. Hiring is holding up better than normal in the lead-up to Christmas (normally the weakest period for hiring)”.

The ANZ job ads series for November is telling a similar story:
