The ABS has released its annual Employment and Earnings, Public Sector data for the 2019-20 Financial Year.
This data shows that employment in the public service remained virtually unchanged in 2019-20, despite the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic:
Whereas total cash wages and salaries across the public service rose by $7,245.7 million in 2019-20, representing a 4.3% increase year-on-year:
