Aussie deaths fall during COVID-19 pandemic

ABS data released yesterday shows that COVID-19 measures such as social distancing and self-isolating when sick has resulted in a sharp fall in the total number of deaths nationwide since mid-May, mainly by reducing incidences of flu and other respiratory diseases:

79878 doctor certified deaths occurred between 1 January 2020 and 28 July 2020.

Deaths have been below historical averages since mid May…
