Oh dear:

In short, if someone mentions China, don’t say a word!

If I had twitter I’d suggest that Drew issue his own talking points to be distributed to all UQ staff.

  2. I have been instructed to say that we are an active supporter of freedom of speech.

    this stuff is gold

Yes… Do they not see the irony of having a section titled “Freedom of Speech” that supplies three committee approved pre-scripted versions on how to respond? Wow…

  3. Now that I’ve finished falling about the floor completely, this has to be a malicious satire, right? But no, it seems that new VC Terry is digging old VC Hoj’s hole even deeper. Hey, can we all use this one?

Q: Why did the Australian Government let foreign Elizabeth suppress the Palace Letters for 45 years? Was it to cover her ass and buff her image? A: Sorry, I’m not across the details of the issue you’re raising.

Repeatedly in UQ’s handling of this case the issue arises: Even assuming their objectives were valid – even on that basis – their approach is so inept! Really incompetent.

Even if you were totally unsympathetic to Drew Pavlou, in the best interests of UQ, the people overseeing this really need to be replaced and a change in approach implemented.

Is there really no one in a position of authority who is sufficiently competent, and sufficiently committed to the best interests of UQ, to step in and fix this?

UQ asking students and staff to roleplay as Krusty the Clown: “I heartily endorse this event or product”

Seems like a good justification for the Commonwealth to repeal UQ’s autonomy and take it back under direct control. If this is the sum output of thousands of ‘talented’ administrators, I’m all for a hard right-led razor gang going through and clearing out all the fat

I’m surprised they didn’t instruct their staff to stand there drooling saying “duuuuuuuhhhhh”.

Is this authentic? If it is, the University’s administration needs to be replaced.
