While 5,000 Brisbane households languish on the social housing wait list, the Queensland Government’s $70 million ‘Build-to-Rent’ scheme, which partners with the private sector to deliver low-rental homes, has failed to deliver a single affordable home:

Developers were asked to build properties on privately-owned land, with the Government to then subsidise rental payments.
