In November 2016, the Victorian Government implemented C270 planning controls, which attempted to boost the quality of apartment construction by laying-out setbacks, building separations, plot ratios and podium heights, as well as allowing developers to only exceed density limits if they met a public benefit threshold.
Now, the Property Council of Australia (PCA) and the Liberal Opposition is using the cover of COVID-19 to remove C270:
