Morrison Government set to permanently lift JobSeeker

Over the weekend, Newscorp publications reported that Treasurer Josh Frydenberg would announce a $75 permanent increase to JobSeeker, from $565.70 a fortnight to $715.70, as part of the economic update slated for 23 July.

The figure was leaked by unnamed senior ministers, who reportedly told The Sunday Telegraph that a $75 a week increase was the preferred option post the COVID-19 pandemic:
