Deloitte weighs up bids for Virgin MkII

Virgin Australia’s administrator Deloitte has revealed that final bids were submitted from Bain Capital and Cyrus Capital Partners and has a week to decide which plan to adapt for its relaunch.

The Flight Attendants Association of Australia and the Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers’ Association both expressed support for Cyrus Capital’s bid, although the Transport Workers’ Union is still holding talks with both parties.

As shown in the Sky News video below, Air Niugini CEO and former Qantas executive Alan Milne believes Virgin Australia has an opportunity to reinvent itself and “come out with a leaner and meaner model”.
