Young Aussies bear brunt of COVID-19 lockdown

A new survey undertaken by the Melbourne Institute shows that one in three Australians are experiencing financial stress due to the coronavirus lockdown.

The ‘Taking the Pulse of the Nation’ survey has found that young Australians have been particularly badly impacted with 44% of those aged 18-44 ‘financially stressed’, more than any other age bracket.

Meanwhile, 44% of respondents expect the economic impact of the pandemic to last for at least 12 months, compared with 41% last week.
