Australian job market among hardest hit by COVID-19

Callam Pickering, economist at global job site Indeed, has posted an interesting table showing that Australia and New Zealand have suffered the biggest decline in job postings in the developed world:

This comes as new job advertisements, as defined as job postings less than 14 days old, have plunged to 57% below last year’s levels:

No doubt Australia’s labour market is facing an unprecedented decline – the biggest since the Great Depression.
