For the life of me, I don’t know why the Morrison Government is reviewing its COVID-19 travel bans on a weekly basis. This is an obvious set-up for massive pressure from interest groups to bludgeon the Government into opening up too early.

Scratch that. That’s why. To wit, at the AFR:

The Morrison government should lift the China travel ban within weeks to stem the economic damage from the coronavirus on the multibillion-dollar tourism sector, according to a peak industry group.
